Description of Lightweight insulating castables
Lightweight insulating castable is a concrete material that consists of lightweight aggregates and cement, gypsum or other suitable binders. Refractory Lightweight Concrete has a lower density than ordinary concrete, and therefore has a lower weight and better insulation properties. Lightweight aggregates are usually made of lightweight granular materials such as polystyrene foam, perlite, vermiculite and expanded clay. These aggregates are characterized by low density and light weight, which can effectively reduce the overall weight of concrete. At the same time, these aggregates can also provide a certain degree of thermal insulation, making lightweight castable materials advantageous in terms of insulation and thermal insulation.

Advantages of lightweight insulating castable
Low thermal conductivity
Lightweight aggregate is used as the main component in lightweight thermal insulation concrete. It has a high pore structure and contains a large number of pores, which effectively shortens the path of thermal conductivity and effectively reduces thermal conductivity.
Lightweight filler
Compared to traditional dense cast materials, lightweight insulating concretes have a lower density, and lower density results in a lighter weight material, making it easier to handle, transport and install, reducing the load on the structure.
Resistance to thermal shock
Since the material in lightweight insulating concrete contains pores, it can act as a buffer, absorbing and dissipating thermal stress that occurs during sudden temperature changes. In addition, low thermal conductivity reduces thermal gradients and minimizes the possibility of shock waves.
Acid resistance
Lightweight thermal insulation castables usually contain acid-resistant fillers such as high-alumina materials, silica, etc. These materials are not prone to chemical reactions with acidic substances, which increases corrosion resistance.
Manufacturing process of lightweight insulation material
Preparation and crushing of raw materials
The raw materials required to prepare castable materials usually include lightweight aggregates such as expanded clay, vermiculite, perlite or other lightweight minerals. A crusher is used to crush the raw materials into large and small pieces.
Sifting and fine grinding
Screening of crushed material according to particle size, usually by stationary inclined screen and electromagnetic vibrating screen.
Mixing and dosing of raw materials
Adding materials such as binders and additives to completely mix with the raw material. The material is mixed using a mixer capable of handling a certain volume and consistency of the casting mixture.
Packaging and sealing
The mixed material can be fed into the packing machine and then packed, or directly packed into bags from the outlet of the mixer. For sub-packaging, use the sub-packaging equipment, and then use the sealing machine to seal the mouth of the bag or tape the mouth of the box.
Checking finished products
Finally, the thermal conductivity, compressive strength and fire resistance of the cast material need to be tested to ensure that various physical and chemical indicators meet the requirements.
