Description of Zirconium corundum castables
Zirconium corundum castables are also known as AZS refractory castables. Zirconium corundum castables are dry concrete mixtures with an Al2O3 content between 55 and 45% and a ZrO2 content between 24 and 12%, consisting of high alumina cements, fine aggregates and a complex of modified additives.

Преимущества смеси СБЦА
High thermal resistance
Zircon-corundum refractories have excellent thermal resistance, which allows them to withstand high temperatures without degradation of properties. This is especially important in processes related to melting and processing of metals.
Chemical resistance
These refractory mixtures have high resistance to aggressive chemical environments such as molten metals, acids and alkalis. They are not subject to rapid destruction or corrosion when in contact with such substances.
Low thermal conductivity
Zircon-corundum refractories are characterized by low thermal conductivity. This allows them to maintain high temperatures inside furnaces and other high-temperature devices, reducing heat loss and increasing process efficiency.
Устойчивость к циклическим нагрузкам
Zirconia corundum refractories cope well with repeated loading and cooling, making them an ideal choice for processes involving periodic temperature changes.
Minimal shrinkage during firing
During the production of zirconium-corundum refractories, they are fired with minimal shrinkage, which allows us to obtain materials with high precision of size and shape.
Good thermal insulation
Due to their low thermal conductivity, they can also be used to create effective thermal insulation solutions in some applications.
Application of AZS castable
Zircon-corundum refractory mixtures are used mainly in furnaces of the glass industry.
Glass furnace tank and melting zone
The vessel and melting zone of glass melting furnaces are exposed to direct contact with molten glass and the associated chemical reactions. AZS refractory mixtures have exceptional resistance to the corrosive effects of molten glass, making them suitable for lining glass melting vessels and other parts of the melting zone.
Other high temperature applications
Although AZS refractory mixtures are primarily used in glass melting furnaces, their superior properties make them suitable for other high-temperature applications. They can be used in non-ferrous metal processing furnaces, waste incineration plants and other industrial processes where high thermal and chemical resistance is required.
Regenerator chambers
In regenerative glass furnaces, AZS refractory mixtures can be used to line the regenerator chambers. Regenerators play a crucial role in increasing the energy efficiency of glass furnaces by recovering waste heat. AZS refractory mixtures are selected for their ability to withstand fluctuating temperatures and chemical conditions inside the regenerator.
Glass furnace box and superstructure
AZS refractory mixtures are typically used in the box and superstructure areas of glass melting furnaces. These areas are exposed to high temperatures, thermal cycling and aggressive environments. The excellent thermal shock resistance and chemical stability of AZS castings make them ideal for these critical furnace components.
Refining and feeding channels
Refining and feeder lines in glass melting furnaces require materials that can withstand high temperatures and aggressive chemical environments. AZS refractory mixtures are often used in these applications to ensure molten glass corrosion resistance and long service life.
The noses and necks of glass melting furnaces
The noses and necks of glass melting furnaces are subject to intensive thermal cycling and contact with molten glass. For lining these areas, AZS refractory mixtures are used, which have excellent resistance to thermal shock and high temperature strength, which ensures reliable operation and a long service life.
